Website Voices Gloucester
Arts and Heritage Charity based in Gloucester
Voices Gloucester is committed to investing in and embracing digital technologies to create a sustainable, accessible, community-led approach to heritage. The aim is to broaden participation, democratise the telling of history, and amplify diverse lived experiences. We’re excited to see how digital opportunities can help share our city’s heritage with more people in more places.
We have started to explore through the Digital Culture Compass. This was commissioned by Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, two of our key funders, and is part of the UK Government’s Culture is Digital initiative.
This led us to undertake a Wayfinder exercise and examine the results with a facilitated reflection session. The key questions identified through this process were:
● How does digital serve Voices vision and mission?
● How do we centre communities and take their lead?
● How do we take existing assets and make more of those digitally?
● Is there a digital first project that might be in a future phase?
The Role We are looking for a skilled consultant to:
● Further consult with our communities, audiences, stakeholders and partners, to map our current provision and identify gaps
● Recommend initial ‘ quick win’ digital assets and training to be implemented internally
● Liaise with Voices Gloucester and key partner Gloucestershire Archives to consider ongoing revenue and operational implications
● Ensure that all implementation / proposals have a high level of accessibility for content built in as standard
● Create a cost/ effort/ impact grid with timeline and share with team and Board
● Support us to develop a community led digital vision and strategy, this will include outlining a phased approach, and recommending sources of funding and support.
